I am a Registered Counsellor, Psychometrist and a Certified BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT) Practitioner based in Cape Town, however, I offer many of my services online allowing me to work with people from all over South Africa. I thoroughly enjoy the balance that my profession allows between administering psychometric assessments (or tests) and counselling. The psychometric assessments that I offer include subject choice assessments, career guidance assessments as well as assessments focussed on scholastics, potential learning difficulties and examination concessions and exemptions.

Subject Choice Assessments

Choosing subjects for the FET phase (Grade 10 – 12) can be a daunting task which typically takes place in the latter part of a learners Grade 9 academic year. A Career Assessment (often referred to as an Aptitude Test even though the assessment battery assesses many other domains too) can be a beneficial tool for individuals who may be wanting to decide on a study or career path, whether it be a high school student, a university student or an adult wanting to embark on a new career field altogether. Psycho – Educational Assessments

Psycho – educational assessments are commonly recommended for students who struggle to keep up with the academic demands of their grade. Psycho – educational assessments include assessments needed as evidence for applications for potential examination concessions / accommodations or subject exemptions. They can also be used as a screening for potential barriers to learning. The purpose of such an assessment is to establish the student’s strengths and weaknesses and to obtain a more holistic understanding of the individual’s current performance and difficulties. Counselling

I offer psychological intervention and support for a range of psychological and emotional difficulties. My approach to counselling is eclectic in nature as every individual’s personality and needs differ. Additionally, I am a certified BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT) Practitioner. “BWRT® stands for BrainWorking Recursive Therapy”, a model of psychology and psychotherapy created by UK professional therapist, Terrence Watts. It’s a totally confidential method that doesn’t require you to reveal your private information or personal secrets to your therapist, and is carried out in a completely conscious state. It doesn’t use hypnosis or any mystical concepts – it’s completely logical, practical and down to earth. It only needs you to know what you want to change in your life for it to be successful. Only Certified Practitioners have been trained to deliver BWRT® and all have to adhere to a strict ethical code.

I have witnessed the impact that counselling, self-development and self-acceptance can have on an individual’s well-being. These are just a few reasons why I am so passionate about what I do, whether it be counselling, BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT), career assessments, career counselling, subject choice assessments or an assessment to determine whether a student qualifies for examination dispensations or exemptions.
